Lead technical advisor and architect on a multi-year project to create a common corporate customer discount system for the FedEx Express, Ground and Freight operating companies. High priority and visibility within FedEx. Led a twelve member geographically dispersed team consisting of full time employees and contractors. Responsibilities included: architecture design, proof of concept work, technical recommendations and performing code reviews. Project was successfully delivered on time and on budget.

• Lead developer on a project to feed revenue data to the corporate system. Designed and developed a scheduled service to extract revenue data and publish XML messages to a JMS message queue. Led another developer on modifications to the accounts receivable system. Used TDD and CI. Project had an aggressive deadline which was met and received the FedEx IT hall of fame award, which is awarded to one project each quarter. Mentored two developers who created later enhancements to this process. Application is used internally to search, retrieve, email, fax and print shipment related images stored in the image repositories – FileNet, Documentum and Freight DB2. • Modified legacy invoicing applications that performed image searches, retrieval and faxing to use new corporate solutions. The legacy programs interfaced with FileNet, RightFax and BTA Print Machine. Applications were changed to use Documentum web services for image search and retrieval and Biscom for faxing. No documentation existed on the existing programs. Documented the current system using Visio and designed a creative solution that minimized the changes required to the legacy applications while providing the new functionality required. Eliminated all dependencies on FileNet and the FileNet print server. Removed 3000+ lines of code in the legacy programs. Overcame many performance and technical issues to deliver this project. Discovered memory leak on Server 2003 OS. This memory leak had been in existence for several years. Developed a proof of concept to help Microsoft fix the issue. Designed and developed the web part of the solution and incorporated into an existing ASP.NET application the team owned. Documents were faxed in and stored as images in a SQL Server database.
