He is a founding partner of 30PR, a full-service strategic communications firm serving a range of corporate, government and nonprofit clients in tech, higher ed, materials and other industries. He also provides strategic communications counsel in public affairs through The Davey Group. For seven years, he was senior associate VP for The Ohio State University. Former Chief Communications Officer for the Supreme Court of Ohio, where he served as a senior advisor and speechwriter for the Chief Justice. Former journalist covering politics for the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Dayton Daily News.Davey is the author of “The Future of Online Legal Journalism: The Courts Speak Only Through Their Opinions?” a call for judges and courts to engage in more direct communication with the public to support understanding of the judicial branch in the digital age. Also, co-authored the chapter on courts and social media for the American Bar Association’s definitive textbook on judicial administration.Bachelor’s degree in journalism and philosophy from The Ohio State University. Fellow in the Kiplinger Program for Public Affairs Journalism (2003). MA. in Communication, Ohio State (2004). Davey lives in Columbus with his wife, Amanda, who is an international development manager and founder of the Agro-Shrub Alliance, a nonprofit promoting an intercrop system in the Sahel region of Africa. They have three grown children.
