I specialise in the investigation of fires and explosions, on behalf of insurance companies, loss adjusters and legal clients. To date I have investigated over 400 incidents in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia ranging from small electrical fires and household appliance fires, fires involving motor vehicles, to incidents involving large buildings and warehouses. I have been involved in the investigation of fires and chemical contamination of ship cargoes, and have also investigated incidents involving both low-voltage and high-voltage electrical distribution networks, chemical and process control failures. I have prepared expert evidence for use in both civil and criminal proceedings, and I have given evidence in the High Court.Originally working in the London office, I transferred to the Burgoynes Hong Kong office in May 2017.

Responding to fires, chemical spills and first aid emergencies on a COMAH Higher Tier site. Experienced in small and large scale chemical decontamination. Self contained / Compressed air breathing appartus certified. Experience in the use of gas-tight and chemical protection suits. Also trained in confined space and rope rescue techniques.

Shift Analytical Chemist in the Pilot Plant Support Unit, Analytical Control, WWPS.• Responsible for 24/7 analytical support of the Process Development Facility, producing material for toxicological testing and clinical trials.• Experienced in a diverse range of analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, Mass Spec, Ion Mobility Spectroscopy, NMR and FTIR, including method development and troubleshooting.• Experienced in GMP/GLP environment.• Fully proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.• Presents technical knowledge regularly at team and line meetings.• Safety Delegate for department, representing at company-wide safety committee meetings. Regularly performs risk assessments and safety audits, and assists in incident investigations.• Subject matter expert for Waters Empower software (used to control chromatography systems). Trained team members during recent software build upgrade.• Undertakes appropriate report writing and effective communication of results to customer groups.

• Responsible for QC testing of Raw Materials, Intermediate and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients produced at Sandwich site.• Experienced in chromatography, spectroscopy (UV and AA), physical tests (Specific Gravity, water by Karl Fisher) and wet chemical tests (titrations, EP/USP testing)..• Accurate record keeper. Information often required for MHRA/FDA auditing.• Excellent knowledge of COSHH and COMAH regulations.• Completed part-time degree study via day release.
