I have worked in Higher Education since 1999 mainly as a lecturer/senior lecturer in accounting and recently as Acting Division Leader in business. My teaching has mainly been within the accounting environment: management accounting; financial management; basic financial accounting. I have led and been a team member in a number of validation/re-validation events for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. I have been an external panel member (expert) in a number of validation events. I have also been an external examiner for an MSc programme. I have completed a PhD (2015) at the University of Sheffield. My research interests are around the accounting community and in particular I am interested in studying small and medium-sized practices. My areas of research interest include: the accounting profession; social and environmental accounting; management accounting; accounting education and interdisciplinary and critical accounting and discourse analysis.I am an FCCA and currently a panel member for the Lancashire and Cumbria region.I would be very happy to be contacted if you feel I can help in your organisation with anything that links with any of the above comments e.g. external examiner/panel member; accounting practice research project.
