Chris Kentis is a film director and screenwriter best known for the critically acclaimed feature film OPEN WATER. He’s also an award-winning producer/editor of movie trailers.As a filmmaker, Chris wrote, directed, and edited OPEN WATER which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Made without a crew, for a budget of $120,000, the film is one of the 20 most profitable low-budget movies of all time. Chris also directed and edited the feature films GRIND, starring Billy Crudup and Amanda Peet, and SILENT HOUSE, starring Elizabeth Olsen, which also premiered at Sundance and was released by Open Road Films.As a screenwriter, Chris has sold numerous scripts and been hired to write for various studios including: 20th Century, CBS Films, Lionsgate, Paramount, Wild Bunch, and Warner Bros.As an editor, Chris has created theatrical trailers, promos, television spots, featurettes, and sizzle reels for over a hundred films and series, for nearly every major studio, in every genre, for directors such as: Paul Thomas Anderson, Wes Anderson, Tim Burton, Spike Lee, Michael Mann, Kelly Reichart, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, and Quentin Tarantino.
