I am a recent grad of Milton Hershey School '24 and a current first-year at the University of Chicago '28, where I will be pursuing a major in Public Policy. My academic journey at MHS, combined with my experiences in leadership and community service, has ignited my passion for advocacy and policy work. I am committed to using public policy as a tool to drive meaningful change in society, particularly in the areas of social justice and equity.As a Young Leaders Scholarship Program scholar, I was recognized for my academic achievements, leadership potential, and dedication to making a positive impact. My passion for public policy is deeply tied to my belief in the power of communication and storytelling. I have always been drawn to how policy decisions affect people’s lives and how effectively advocating for marginalized voices can lead to systemic change.At Milton Hershey School, I had the privilege of serving in student government, where I led initiatives that encouraged student engagement and fostered a sense of community. Experiences like organizing student town halls and other events, helped me develop strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills that I will carry forward into my public policy studies.Beyond leadership, community service was a core aspect of my high school experience. I worked closely with my peers to organize drives for local shelters, mentor younger students, and support the broader community through various volunteer initiatives. These efforts earned me recognition and awards for community service and taught me the importance of giving back.As I enter the next phase of my academic career at the University of Chicago, I am excited to deepen my knowledge of public policy and explore its potential to shape a more just and equitable future. My goal is to become a policy analyst, focused on creating solutions that address key social issues such as economic inequality, environmental sustainability, and access to education.
