Recruited to repair and grow the Data Platform Engineering team for this unicorn Healthcare Startup VP Engineering Data Platform• Grew the Payer data processing team by 30% - including 3 senior leaders, implemented Agile scrum teams organized around major product areas and delivered a completely rebuilt, highly automated enterprise data platform (including ingestion, transformation and Lakehouse) to replace the existing ‘ad- hoc’ system.• Drove the technical architecture of the automated data processing and data quality systems and championed the emphasis on modern Data Lakehouse architecture.• Spearheaded code rewrite of the data processing components to focus on code quality and efficiency.• Led the security effort to implement role based access control and data obfuscation leveraging Google Cloud Platform native services in prep for HITRUST and other regulatory compliance.• Worked with the DevOps team to move to infrastructure as code (Terraform) deployments and simplify our Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.• Brought to life the innovative concept of an ‘Insights’ team which leverages ML models applied to aggregated data assets to automate time consuming healthcare provider tasks. • Reduced engineering attrition rate from ~40% in the year prior to my tenure to roughly 0%.

CLARA Analytics is revolutionizing the commercial insurance industry with its AI based products that dramatically reduce costs and complexity for both insurers and the insured.• Brought in to ‘fix’ an unhappy, underperforming team of developers in Santa Clara and Hyderabad.• Through strategic hiring, internal promotions, and managed departures, I transformed engineering into a well-organized and respected team that drove innovation and delivered high quality product on schedule.• Led the JavaScript web application group (JavaScript and Node) to transition to a serverless architecture utilizing AWS lambda which greatly reduced infrastructure cost and increased developer productivity.• Led the JavaScript web application team to migrate to 100% RESTful API driven frontend and achieved near 100% automated test coverage of that set of API and web services• Re-architected key areas of the data ingestion and processing software to eliminate multiple highly visible product issues.• Achieved first ever HITRUST certification of CLARA’s product and infrastructure. Private industries, governments and NGOs use our cloud-based advanced analytics to make better business and policy decisions. • Head of Core Engineering, Computer Vision and DevOps.• Grew the org by ~75% and evolved from a flat structure to one with the ideal amount of management – promoted from within.• Re-designed the organization to ensure clear ownership of and accountability for core software infrastructure, computer vision and the 3 primary Orbital Products.• Created a micro services-based software platform with a rich set of REST APIs as well as a web UI. This strategy and corresponding market campaign, papers and speaking engagements has established Support.com as a thought leader in the IoT domain.• Championed and drove the migration from legacy CoLo hosting to Amazon Web Service - AWS.

Head of engineering for Citrix SaaS division’s IT Support line Line of Business, including the GoToAssist, Service Desk, Monitoring and GoToAssistCorporate products. These products consist of a SaaS platform, Mobile Application and Desktop Application components, currently generate ~$90M revenue, and are growing >30% YoY.• Responsible for a global (US, Germany, India) development team that has grown from 25 to 70+ individuals.• Re-designed the organization to ensure clear ownership of and accountability for the SaaS Platform, desktop client, and mobile components of the GotoAssist products.• In my 2.5-year tenure, revenues have grown dramatically and our products identified as next growth engine for the SaaS division. • Worked with LOB leaders to devise the LOB’s mobile strategy and to deliver on key phases of that strategy.• Drove decision within the LOB to focus on a single product platform which can support all markets, yet allows for agility and rapid adoption of new technology and functionality.• Overseen the successful integration of 2 acquisitions.

Casabi was a VC backed startup that developed a distributed, scalable cloud-based platform and specialized clients for publishing content to mobile and IP connected residential devices (e.g. picture frames and DECT phones). Casabi was purchased by Broadsoft in 2010.• Owned Product Development (15-20 developers in US and India) for Casabi’s cloud based platform and iOS/Flash application software.• Inherited an extremely dysfunctional development team that was unproductive and noted for missing schedules and, through managed departures and restructuring, transformed the group into a highly productive and dependable team.• Directed software architecture and design to enable the creation and deployment of products for Comcast, Cox, Time Warner Cable, Embarq Communications and Cincinnati Bell from a single code base.• Worked with Operations to design the network architecture to ensure scalable and highly reliable deployments.

Dulance was a bootstrapped startup with a small management team in Sunnyvale and developers in Russia. Dulance was purchased by Google in 2005.• Worked with CEO and founder to define and develop applications for Dulance’s product search engine, which was based upon A.I. principals.• Developed strategies and business relationships to productize the search engine. • Successfully architected the technical and business relationships to integrate Dulance’s search result into 2 major online product review sites.• Worked with Russian development team to implement features and modifications necessary to integrate into these review sites.

PFT was a hedge fund that utilized cutting edge algorithms based upon fractal theory to predict price changes in the foreign currency market.• Raised capital and managed the fund to 2 years of 10%+ gains.

Joined Clarent as a software developer when it was <15 people. Became Manager, Director, and eventually VP as the company grew to 1500+ employees and $2B market cap after a successful IPO.• Responsible for all Clarent VOIP, Local Access product development that generated 60% of Clarent’s $200M+ 2001/2002 revenue.• Built group from a core set of engineers to a 60+ person cross-functional team.• Member of Business Development ‘Tiger’ team responsible for deploying Clarent Local Access products in the cable market. This team succeeded in securing trials with the 3 leading cable providers and the eventual deployment of Clarent gear by Time Warner Cable.• Worked with Clarent’s Asia Pacific unit to define Local Access solutions specific to the China market. This effort included working with China’s Ministry of Information to evolve and implement the China H.323 Standard.• Member of BusDev team responsible for an AT&T sponsored joint project between Cisco and Clarent, to develop/deploy H.323 based VOIP networks for the enterprise.
