As part of gaining more hands-on knowledge of non-containerized cargoes, joined the fleet of Royal Wagenborg's MPP vessels as 2nd Officer.

Prepared and installed new network computer systems (Windows 2003 Server/Windows XP Professional) on the complete managed fleet of Blue Star Ship Management (100% Daughter of P&O Nedlloyd). This included the creation of complete manuals including test protocols for installation and training sessions for the end-users of the systems. Initial support functions were provided by our roll out team.

During this period, I investigated the possibilities to use a radial gas turbine (OPRA) for short sea ships propulsion. A thesis on this subject formed part of my graduation for the Industrial Engineer education.

Student/Trainee, assisting in developing a training programme for Gas Engines. Hands on in service and maintenance to gas engines. Part of this project comprised of building and setting up a training engine.

Traineeship of 11 months on board of a large sea-going container vessel. Trained for my dual-education as a Maritime Officer.
