As President of the Juno Beach Centre Association, this role safeguards Canada’s most significant WWII historical asset, ensuring its legacy inspires future generations. It combines leadership, advocacy, and operational oversight to advance the Centre’s mission of remembrance and education while driving sustainability and growth.The President acts as the JBCA’s ambassador, building relationships with government entities, donors, veterans, and the public. Duties include leading strategic planning, supporting governance, and empowering the leadership team to achieve excellence. A major focus is fundraising, particularly for Project Concordia, a $21 million initiative expanding the Centre’s interpretive park and museum facilities.Key successes include defending the Centre’s legacy by mobilizing grassroots and governmental support to prevent a condominium development on sacred land. This preserved the Centre’s independence and integrated the contested land into its property. The President also prioritizes financial stability through innovative fundraising, cultivating donors, and fostering grassroots campaigns like the “Friends of Juno Beach” Foundation.By collaborating with the board, staff, and volunteers, the President ensures best practices in governance, management, and financial stewardship. This includes mentoring the leadership team, advancing digital tools, and aligning the Centre with sustainability values.The ultimate goal is to create a world-class, enduring institution that honours Canada’s WWII legacy while adapting to a changing world.
