I improved and developed new transmission component and sub-system designs using sound engineering principles, GD&T and tolerance stacks. Designed new part concepts in CAD, reviewed FEA results, and made design judgements based on those results. Developed a solid understanding of the manufacturing and assembly impacts to design. I worked with suppliers, purchasing, and supplier quality engineers to support cost reduction, sourcing decisions and design changes.My primary responsibility was in the design of a hydraulic lubrication priority manifold system that allowed a transmission to redirect transmission fluid for cooling and lubrication according to flow requirements at each given operating point.
