Involved in a variety of engagements for various contractors in the Aerospace & Defense industry, as well as obtain experience at the associate level in a number of areas including:- Accounting and contracting support to government contractors in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)- Participated in engagements for the adequacy and implementation of compliant business systems, disclosure statements, and determining the allowability, allocability, and reasonableness for the cost recovery for U.S. Government contracts

As part of the Office of Career Services team, I facilitated with the logistics of events for firms who wish to have a strong student outreach at the University. Events included but were not limited to; Corporate Information Sessions, Networking events, and CEOs or other executives serving as speakers. My role was to lead a team to plan and run events to ensure that our partner firms received the best experience and exposure to University of Maryland students.

I completed a ~12 week internship with the Government Contracting Services team under KPMG’s Advisory practice. I reported directly to my senior associate, intern mentor, as well as the partner on my progress throughout the Internship experience. I improved my technical accounting knowledge base, Microsoft Excel skills, and comfort in client-facing environments. At the conclusion of the internship, I was offered and accepted a full-time role as an Advisory Associate starting in the Summer of 2016.
