The program offered sexual health classes to teen afterschool programs in the Boston area. I managed a staff of 6 phenomenal peer health educators. My role was to outreach and build relationships with youth programs, schedule workshops, and make sure the program was a positive environment for the peer health educators.

I counsel people between the ages of 12-24 years on reproductive health at the Teen Health center. I also provide health education to all age groups in the Cambridge, Everett, Malden, and Somerville area. Opportunities have led me to be creative, innovative, an advocate for my clients and community, take initiatives, and manage individual and group projects on a variety of reproductive health issues. In this role, I have established my self as a communicative, creative leader within my health clinic, my department, Cambridge schools, and organizations.

During this summer, I worked in two different programs at ABCD health services. In the first half of the summer, I facilitated and developed workshops on a variety of wellness topics for a group of 10 women between 18 to 21 years old under the Young Women's Health Leadership Academy (YWHLA). They all came from different walks of life and I had the blessing to form positive bonds with the participants. Everyone walked away with new resumes, vision boards, and positive mentors. I then developed the YWHLA facebook page to reach out to past and present participants, forming an online community of sisters. After the 7 week academy ended, we targeted participants for the Entre Nostras program, which focuses on HIV prevention. We did community mappings and observations for the 4 Boston area communities to develop a strategic plan.
