Flight Director for Spirit and Opportunity during their cruise to Mars, and for the first hands-on weeks of operations from Impact to Egress for each rover. Wrote the commands that resulted in the first Earth and Mars drives for both Spirit and Opportunity. Supervised most of the "first time activities" for each rover including critical deployments, surface drives, and Opportunity "deep sleep" and transition to routine operations (which lasted a decade longer than I could have imagined!)

Wrote over 50 integration and test procedures for the rovers, including integration of the 50+ mechanisms/motors on the spacecraft, integration of the power generation and storage subsystems, and pyrotechnic release mechanisms. Served as Test Conductor for key tests including end-to-end testing including Surface Systems Tests, Thermal Vacuum Tests, Entry Descent and Landing, Impact to Egress autonomous deployments, and the first-ever driving for both Spirit and Opportunity.
