Project:  Face and Ear Dual-modality Identification Responsibilities:  Analyzing and cleaning data using machine learning algorithms  Prove certain features’ correlation and design models to utilize features to achieve optimal performance  Prepare writing reports to summarize data and the implications of the resultswe use both deep learning and traditional machine learning to identify individuals. for traditional machine learning method, we use multiple feature extraction methods. i.e. HOG, LBP, SIFT, etc. Our application handles the process from object detection in wild to biometric recognition. We create multiple strategies to merge face and ear features into one biometric feature. i.e. CCA, PCA+CCA, DCA, Concatenation, Summation. For classification algorithms, we experiment: SVM, Random Forest, LDA/QDA, CNN, ANN, KNN, GBDT. For deep learning, we combine two faster-rcnn models to make the final recognition. Our goal is to compare the performances of multimodal models and unimodal models.
