About Chris Longen
I am currently, and have been for the last five years, an Epic Beaker Principle Trainer for the University of Virginia healthcare system. I look forward to interacting with new hires and current employees by teaching them our version of our electronic healthcare record (EHR) system and supporting them when upgrades occur. I have previously worked in the clinical and anatomic pathology fields as both a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and a Cytotechnologist. When UVA decided to change EHRs, I was selected to be on the team that trained our 500+ laboratory employees on the new system, and I haven't stopped training since. I am nearing the end of an MBA in IT management that I started as COVID reared its ugly face. I found it a way to better myself and something to focus on as lockdowns and quarantines ensued. I look forward to the day when I can put this newfound knowledge into practice.
