Since joining CEC (then Cobb Engineering) in 2013 I have helped to start a Structures Division that has been standing on its own since the summer of 2015 and am now the Division Manager. I have also have had significant input into the forming of the Facilities Division at CEC that encompasses Structural, Civil, and MEP. I am the lead project engineer on many different types of projects using many different materials. My duties also include managing personnel, divisional finances, and many other things. I am versed in Enercalc, Excel, MathCAD, TEDDS, RAM Structural System, RISA (2D, 3D, Floor, and Foundation). Our main project delivery method is Revit and I was instrumental in getting the program adopted and implemented here at CEC.

Alternate delegate to the National Council of Structural Engineering Associations.

Serving as the president for OSEA, my responsibilities include coordinating monthly meetings for the central chapter and fully coordinating a state-wide conference in the fall. I also arranged a day-long AISC 14th edition manual presentation in February.

Serving as the vice-president/incoming president for OSEA, I assisted the president with monthly meetings and one of the two state-wide annual meetings.

Developed and implemented project standards including General notes, typical details, and other various notes and tables. Software includes RAM suite of programs, STAAD, Enercalc, Excel, Mathcad, Revit and AutoCAD.I was the Project Engineer or Engineer of Record on various projects including new construction, additions, renovations, and inspections of existing structures. While at Zahl-Ford, I has extensive experience designing in structural steel, concrete, and masonry. I routinely had the lead role in developing, editing, and maintaining specifications I was involved with. I designed and detailed multiple FEMA-compliant safe rooms. I utilized, developed, and maintained Revit models and AutoCAD files used for creation and delivery of Construction Documents. I created, edited, maintained, and reviewed spreadsheet and MathCad templates. During construction of projects I was involved in, I reviewed shop drawings and other submittals and responded to RFIs. I performed much of my own drafting as well as coordinated work with Draftsmen. Upon receiving a project, I would attend preliminary design meetings to ensure the proposed structural system would be efficient, cost effective, and appropriate for the facility. After any preliminary phases, full design of the structure would begin. During the design phase I would work to stay continually coordinated with the Architect and other engineering disciplines and attempted to identify the any additional cost savings along the way. I would develop structural details for all appropriate areas of the structure and identify any locations or components that could be performance specified to ensure the most cost effective design. Examples of this would be in the specification of post-installed anchors and design of steel connections. I worked on LEED certified projects and am familiar with the requirements for LEED certification.
