I’m currently involved in an ongoing project with Dreamworks TV creating on-air motion design in the form of ‘Promo-tainment’. The project involves designing and creating animated audience participation games that play during the ad breaks.The project is being shown across all of the Dreamworks TV channels word-wide and is the largest single project the station has undertaken. Each game is set in the world of a beloved Dreamworks show including:- Jurassic World- Kung Fu Panda- How to Train your Dragon- Boss Baby- Puss in Boots- Home- Madagascar- Spirit Riding Free- Trolls- Guillermo Del Toro’s Tales of Arcadia- Where’s Wally?- Noddy Toyland Detective- Raa Raa the Noisy Lion- Captain Underpants- Dragons Rescue Riders- All Hail King Julian- Cleopatra in SpaceI regularly create a wide range of other content for Dreamworks for use in TV spots and marketing materials and will hopefully continue to do so for many years to come.

The first project I undertook with NBCU was Dream Heroes, an award winning online event that brought Dreamworks worlds to life on the web through a series of online games. I was responsible for the motion graphics creation for the instructional and promotional materials of the project.Later on in the year, I was responsible for creating a channel launch campaign from the ground up for the launch of two new Dreamworks TV channels in Spain and Australia. The campaign was built around the concept of World Windows, which allowed viewers to peek inside the worlds of many of the their favourite Dreamworks characters. The campaign featured many Dreamworks shows including; Kung Fu Panda, How to train your Dragon, Trolls, Spirit, Where’s Wally, Captain Underpants and The Croods. The final campaign was shown on Dreamworks TV and on billboards and Ad screens all over Australia and Spain.We still produce lots of exciting content for NBCU on a regular basis and look forward to sharing more in the future.

We founded Studio Helga in May 2021 as a creative studio/agency with the purpose of providing design services to the entertainment industry and creating our own original products. We currently work for clients in the TV, games and music industry including NBCUniversal, Dreamworks and Stage, plus many more. Our work is viewed worldwide in the form of TV content, marketing campaigns, interactive experiences.Our first internal product was Valculator.io, an unofficial companion app for the hit game Valheim, that allows users to calculate in-game resources and create handy checklists for their adventures.Studio Helga is a passion project for us. It’s the culmination of years of hard work and the convergence of our collective skills and experience into a single creative entity.

I started at Jacobs Technology as the sole designer and over the course of 8 years built and ran a design department which integrated with the app developers and the management team. As the Senior Designer I was responsible for taking a hands on approach to leading the design team in the creation of our desktop and mobile debt recovery app suite. Day-to-day it was my role to find creative solutions to complex problems in order to strike a balance between the UI/UX designers, the stakeholders and the developers. Handling the extremely high volume of data and the complex processes of the multiple stakeholders using it was both a challenging yet rewarding process. We relied upon an agile process using Jira to make sure the product requirements remained on spec and delivered the designs using interactive prototypes using Figma.I designed the corporate brand Identity for Jacobs and Jacobs Technology and as the brand ambassador was responsible for keeping all aspects up to date and for creating new marketing, explainer videos, and conference materials when needed.

My main responsibility when working with Airbus was the creation of 2D, 3D, video and interactive e-learning materials for a variety of training schools, lean academies and marketing outlets. The animated content was created using 3Ds max, Cinema 4D, RealFlow, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, CAD data, photography and video content.The training courses themselves were extremely varied in scope and content. Some were operations based and would detail the individual steps it takes to complete complex aerospace manufacturing procedures such as drilling, bonding or hydraulic fitting. Others would be broader in scope such as general aircraft awareness courses which overviews the control systems and basic functionality of the Airbus aircraft family. We also produced soft skill courses for management teams and health and safety training such as manual handling, runway safety and working at height.When I wasn’t in the office creating courses I was travelling to locations across the UK, Europe and America conducting research and capturing video and photographs. When working at aerospace facilities and airports I was responsible for meeting with content experts and conducting interviews and carrying out research photography/videography. I produced around a hundred courses over my five years working in Aerospace and I was fortunate enough to work with a large number of other companies whilst doing so, including; - Bombardier- Hawker- Honeywell- Latchways- PPG- Project 7- VionI also led the UX/UI design process of our training content delivery platform ‘AMIS’ which laid the groundwork for my next role at Jacobs Technology.

Whilst studying at Ravensbourne, I created motion design and animation work for Audi’s internal presentations team. Each project required me to create animated presentations and explainer videos based on the organisations current goals and initiatives. I was often provided with pages of raw data and tasked with converting them into easy to digest concepts, animated charts, statistics and process flows diagrams.The work was corporate in style and the success of the project relied heavily on being able to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
