I have worked as a software developer for over 20 years. Since 1988, I have built, installed, and maintained my own hardware and software. I have experience in operating systems ranging from Dos 2.1 through Windows 10, from Solaris 2.4 through Ubuntu 17.10. For the past 9 years, I have been working on projects where I designed machines, and integrated hardware, sensors, and software for deployment to a production floor. This involved all steps from Autocad design, to sourcing parts, to assembly and programming of front and back end interfaces and main program code, including development of algorithms to translate sensor data to real world measurements.I have programmed in Turbo Pascal, Delphi, Visual Basic, C, C#, Parallax Spin, x86 Assembly language, TSO Command Language, shell scripts of various types. I've got peripheral experience with a handful of other languages.I love gadgets and technology. I previously maintained an array of 5 working satellite dishes ranging from an 18" DirectTV dish to a 12-foot C-band dish. I installed all of these myself, and built most of them from scrap components. For ten years or so I ran a home-based business part time. As part of this business, I supported a network of 6+ PC's running operating systems ranging from Win95 through WinXP, and Ubuntu 8.04. I do weekly setup and tear-down of a booth at the farmers market where my wife (the gifted photographer) and I sell local nature photos.Specialties: Project managementReport writingSoftware supportHardware supportHardware developmentSoftware development, tools development
