Former Marine NCO and Navy Officer holding the military occupational specialties: 0311 (infantry), 8541 (scout/sniper), 8654 (Recon Marine, Airborne/Scuba qualified), 8154 (security forces) with combat experience in Operation Continue Hope; Mogadishu, Somalia, and experience with foreign military units. In early 2001, transitioned into the information security industry while contracting with Visa USA. One of the original members of the team that worked with Visa to rewrite the CISP (now PCI DSS) in 2001. Conducted one of first two PCI (then CISP) assessments in 2002. Founded a QSA firm and conducted or managed over 100 assessments from 2002 until 2004. Former MasterCard SDP team member and Original member of PCI SSC. Former QSA trainer who trained over 2,800 QSAs worldwide from 2007-2009. From January 2007 - Sept 2009 was the Visa Inc. CISP trainer responsible for training over 10,000 people worldwide on PCI DSS and related topics. Creator of the CPISM and CPISA certifications.
