About Chris Maugans
After reflecting on part-time employment experiences I had during my undergraduate studies, I was drawn to the human resources field. I became fascinated with the legal aspect of HR as well as the profound impact HR can have on a business if approached strategically. I continued my education and pursued an MBA in human resources and a JD in labor and employment law. After graduating I followed my passion and started my career working in a human resources department, where I learned the nuts and bolts of HR. I then moved to my current role in private practice at Goldberg Segalla where I counsel and defend private and public sector employers in various industries on employment and labor law matters. In 2019 I deepened my knowledge of HR by sitting for and passing the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) exam. My background in business and working in-house provides me with a unique perspective and ability to represent and counsel businesses.When I am not practicing law I enjoy mentoring students and serving the communities I am a part of through board leadership.
