Structural design of residential, commercial and civil projects. Structural steeldesigns including portal frames, temporary works, façade retention, signagegantries, footbridges, etc. RC design of small scale hydro, agricultural tanks,retaining walls, etc. Residential structural drawings and details for masonry,timber, steelwork, etc. for new build and renovations alike.

West Connex - M4 WideningSenior Engineer on a $10m+ Contract delivering substructures on a very tight programme, with challenging site constraints including live rail, road and rivers. Managing an engineering team, developing programme, submitting pricing, managing contract, commercial and variations, maintaining ISO:9001 standards, developing falsework options – including trusses, suspended supports and scaffold, liaising with designers and client to resolve any issues which arise.

2018 Commonwealth Games Accommodation VillageDelivery of over 220,000m2 of formwork for follow on trades in development of 8 no. apartment blocks and underground parking. Overseeing Quality Control package, as well as liaising with client’s designer and formwork providers to practically resolve design issues, in order to deliver on an incredibly tight programme. At peak, part of a 3 engineer team managing in excess of 30,000m2 of formwork including Peri, Ulma and Faresin formwork systems.

Short-Term Contract working for a renowned Irish Reinforced Concrete Sub-Contractor. Project was primarily focused on delivery of 2 No. Bunkers, constructed using Slipform Technology.This was delivered on a very tight schedule, with over 7000m3 of concrete poured into walls rising as high as 30metres over a 12 week programme.The project was handed over on time, thanks to 24hr continuous pouring, with a skeleton team of only myself and one other Engineer.Other elements of this project included columns and slabs which were poured traditionally concurrently with the ongoing Slipform Operations.

I took 9 months off from Engineering to travel around South America, and experience different cultures.

A5WTC - Section 1 - (Derry, Ireland) Dual Carriageway Site PrelimsThis was a broad role where responsibilities ranged from Foreman on site, overseeing establishment of site access and clearance, to assisting the QS with tenders, and also creating and introducing Quality and Environmental Assurance Procedures for the project moving forward.Borders Railway - (Borders, Scotland) - Structures TeamAs a member of the Structures Team, I had 10 no. structures; consisting of In-Situ Concrete, Precast Concrete, Steel, Culverts and Masonry Refurbishment.Works largely consisted off in-situ concrete works - using PERI Formwork and Timber Shuttering, Along with enabling earthworks and drainage prior. However, refurbishment of existing over and under-bridges (including a 700m long viaduct) provided great experience in masonry works and repair. Many of these bridges also required underpinning with track troughs, which was an excellent learning opportunity.
