About Chris Mcmurry

My career started in PR, but I've evolved along with the changing media landscape to also lead integrated campaigns that include paid social, digital and traditional media, influencer marketing, social content and more. I now lead all account operations for an integrated marketing communications agency that serves the food/beverage, education, healthcare and nonprofit industries, among others. I have deep experience leading campaigns that resulted in documented behavior change, while also serving as a mentor and strategic planning partner for our agency's other account directors.     I started at MGH as a PR practitioner, but my career has evolved along with marketing itself, as I shifted to oversee fully integrated marketing campaigns. My transition into an integrated marketing role has been natural, as the rules of PR (be different, be timely and be compelling) also apply to paid and earned communications channels. In my current role, I oversee a team of 18 client-facing account management team members and direct oversight of seven account leads. I manage team staffing/budget, integration with other agency departments and provide counsel to account leads on client marketing strategy and client relations topics. Additionally, I directly lead several non-profit accounts, while also overseeing day-to-day PR activities on the agency's multi-location food/restaurant accounts. In this integrated marketing position, I'm deeply familiar with and have directly worked on campaigns that include PR, digital/social/traditional paid media, creative design/writing, social media content, branding, website design/development/content, primary research and event management. I've been in my current role since February of 2018, but I've held other positions at MGH since 2004.
