I am a recent graduate from the Metropolitan State University of Denver who is actively looking for an entry-level position in the software development field. The languages I am familiar with are Java, Arm, Rust, Ruby, LISP, Scala, Python, C, and more, as well as the Scrum and Agile methodologies.I am a quick learner. After a couple of days reading the Rust book I was able to write a function to decode the metadata of a .ogg file and have it printed in a terminal. During that same development cycle, I was able to adapt to a new project and switch to Java unit testing with JUnit and Mockito.Here are a few of the projects I have worked on during my degree:JDNS ServerWorked on building, testing, and refactoring a JDNS server application with Doctor Steven Beaty.Wrote a multitude to tests to increase test coverage starting with TCP and TCPthread classes.Opus Decoder in RustWrote a metadata decoder function in Rust for .ogg files that printed metadata of any size in the terminal.Software Engineering Methods and ToolsUsed Scrum and Agile practices to build a website with a team of four using the Springboot framework. Primary responsibilities included writing tests for the website using JUnit and Mockito.Web Application DevelopmentUsed Ruby and the Rails framework to create a webpage from scratch, and created tables from Ruby’s relational database capabilities. Additionally, a single page application was developed for the class’s final project.Computer Networking and SecurityUsed Java to write two programs that encrypted and decrypted a file using the SHA-256, AES symmetrical, and RSA encryption styles. These programs were uploaded to separate Unix servers and run independently from each other.
