About Chris Metcalf

Over the last 6 years I used my passion for both customers and technology to help Amperity grow from a 50 person startup with 8 customers to a $1B unicorn with hundreds of customers and employees. Every day, Amperity processes billions of customer records, using our sophisticated, patented clustering Artificial Intelligence and big data tools like Spark to turn disparate customer profile and transactional information into rich behavioral profiles and predictions our clients can use to better understand and market to their customers.While at Amperity I built and led several different highly-technical teams, from our team of Customer Solutions Engineers, who are responsible for deploying our Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and data science tools to solve complex customer problems to our Platform Support and Operations team, who use their deep understanding of our platform and our customers to ensure that they are always able to make critical business and marketing decisions based on customer data that is fresh and accurate. Throughout my time at Amperity, I cultivated and maintained a deep relationship with our Product and Engineering teams, leveraging it to not only guide the development of our platform but also how we supported and operationalized the platform at scale.Previously I spent 10 years growing Socrata from a small, eight person startup to a 180 person company with hundreds of customers, through it's acquisition by Tyler Technologies. Along the way I impacted or worked in nearly every department at the company from Engineering to Product to Developer Evangelism/Marketing to Sales and Customer Success, helping drive the Open Data movement within state, local, and federal governments, helping hundreds of our customers to become more open with their constituents about their communities and their operations.
