Managing strategic long-range and community planning initiatives, including: coordinating updates and development of new and existing community, neighbourhood and other related policy plans, updating planning bylaws and policies, internal liaison with all other municipal departments on a variety of multi-department and corporate projects and initiatives, coordination of public and development community outreach, preparation of planning project grant applications, and communications with First Nations and other local government agencies on a variety of initiatives.

Implementation of land use planning projects, based upon thorough knowledge of planning legislation, regulations, processes, and best practices.I process land use planning applications and work with the Heritage Advisory Committee. I also have the opportunity build on the working relationships I have built in this community that are important to much of the work I do.

In my position as Planning Technician for the City of Williams Lake, my responsibilities cover all planning work at the City. From planning applications and responding to inquiries from the general public, to researching and updating our existing policies, I work with a small development services staff to do everything.

Reviewed, processed, and managed applications for rezoning, community plan amendments, variance permits, etc. This position offered extensive experience with land use planning in the Agricultural Land Reserve, including numerous applications to the Agricultural Land Commission. I also responded to public and real estate industry inquiries.Research and develop updates and new generation of planning policies including Official Community Plans and zoning bylaws.

I worked full-time doing design and production drawings with AutoDesk Software. Also worked in materials planning and management of orders.Great experience working for a forward thinking, environmentally conscious company. Great training was available. Left to continue studies.
