I serve on the Board of the UKAPMP, (UK branch of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals) which is bringing improved levels of professionalism to the bidding world. I started out as an Electrical Engineer designing the electronic and computing interfaces for an airborne oil sensing system, and then spent about 12 years designing communication systems for the Royal Navy, initally for ARE (Admiralty Research Establishment) which migrated into DRA, DERA and now QinetiQ. I worked on the VLF broadcast program, and built the UK's VLF Test Bed. I then moved to surface communications and was responsible for the successful TIPNET sea trial in Jan 1999.
