I was an independent innovation project manager, providing bespoke solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. Focused on ideas management and knowledge management issues, I specialised in the business process challenges of adopting Enterprise 2.0 / Web 2.0 tools and approaches. Using a proven process for driving open innovation effectiveness, I worked with companies to ensure that their external partnerships return maximum value.

I was responsible for delivering knowledge and information products to the organisation, specialising in innovative solutions to knowledge management issues. I delivered and managed solutions that ranged from small products for a single drug project team through to enterprise-wide tools. I also lead the information management process for the Project Management organisation, provided internal consultancy on knowledge management, document management and intranet design, and was responsible for project and portfolio information transfer for two mergers. Whilst in this role I received a Pfizer Achievement Award, an internal award recognising outstanding contributions to the company.

I started out in the project office, managing the document collection for a major project to build a new paper machine. This involed liasing with numerous companies around the world to ensure drawings and documents were updated efficiently. Once the paper machine became operational, I transitioned to managing the daily delivery of waste paper (the machine's raw material) to the plant, and the collection operations around the country. This included customer relations work with a network of charities that collected paper, and the general public when objects were put into the recyling bins by mistake. Within this role I also took part in process reengineering and document management projects.

I worked in various bands playing blues, rock, pop and country around the UK and in parts of Europe. In this work I was required to manage band finances, find bookings, arrange travel, carry out personnel management tasks and represent bands in contractual negotiations.
