Access Request approval, Personnel Record creation, Deployment Plan / Availability Plan development, and timesheet utilization. Hired initially as a mid-level environmental regulatory specialist for a public utility company in the East Tennessee area. Transitioned to a natural gas compliance specialist responsible for ensuring adherence to federal regulations for the distribution of natural gas to 100,000 customers and primary liaison with Tennessee Regulatory Authority inspection personnel. Developed into a Subject Matter Expert for natural gas operations and Senior Project Manager responsible for compliance with 49 CFR Part 192. Projects included audits of existing programmatic manuals such as operation & maintenance, operator qualification (OQ) and emergency response. Each program manual was revised to reflect current industry and regulatory standards. Aggressively addressed new rule making by authoring initial Distribution Integrity Management Program Plan and oversaw development of risk mapping application, as well as the Control Room Management Program and related manual. Actively managed annual leak survey program and closely monitored leak repair program to surpass compliance with existing regulations.

Initially responsible for all aspects of field data collection to support the Life Sciences Department of a global environmental engineering consulting firm. Duties included field data collection of fish tissue, aquatic invertebrates, soil, groundwater, subsurface borings, sediment, surface water, and air. In addition, learned to perform data analysis/evaluation against existing screening criteria, development of initial ecological risk assessments, and report writing of Baseline Risk Assessments. Led field teams consisting of multiple personnel for large scale assessment events. Also performed wetland delineations, constructed wetland design and sensitive species assessments.

Birmingham, Alabama Area

Performed project management for environmental assessment studies of heated effluent discharges at seven fossil generating facilities located in Florida and Mississippi. Studies were established to aid in compliance with Section 316(a) of the Clean Water Act. Project methodology included field data collection of thermal levels, surface water chemistry, biota, and sediment chemistry. Management of laboratory contracts included analytical tests performed on water/sediment, toxicity testing performed on surface water and biotic indices calculated for macro invertebrate samples. In addition, post field study project requirements included data analysis/validation of all analytical results, and development of annual facility summary reports for internal customers and local regulatory personnel in Florida. Represented organization at two public meetings related to the acquisition of a substantial conservation easement along an existing study site in Harrision County, Mississippi.

Initially performed environmental assessment studies at seven fossil generating facilities operated by Gulf Power Company and Mississippi Power Company. Responsibilities included field data collection of surface water, sediment and biota from small watercraft in freshwater and estuarine environments, deployment/retrieval of in-situ water quality sondes, interaction with contracted laboratory personnel, data analysis/validation of laboratory results, updates to existing annual summary reports and escorting contractor on company property during air quality survey of surrounding vegetation.

Birmingham, Alabama Area

Initially hired to support vacuum truck operation for large collection system assessment/remediation. Quickly advanced to field crew leader of a TV inspection team to visually asses the current state of the collection system (identify defects) and document defects through video and measurement techniques for future repair.
