I believe programming is a skill, not a job. It can be applied to anything. In that vein I've spent 24 years working full time applying my skills to as many different fields as I can find. I've worked on communications protocols, drivers, 3D visual software, parsing/reporting, handheld devices, instructor software, database applications, UI, web programming (including SEO), internationalization and pretty much anything you could name.
