After settling in Canada, I joined the PHD offices in Toronto. This was a great opportunity for me to learn all about the Canadian media and advertising landscape while having the familiarity of having worked at PHD in South Africa. I worked on clients in the retail, CPG, and Education fields. My responsibilities included developing and implementing media strategy, coordinating between multiple cross-functional teams within the agency, and ensuring plans were executed and billed timeously.

In the role of Business and Strategic Lead, I was recruited to help establish a new agency called FAME, as part of a JV between Omnicom and The Duke Group. In my time in the role I was responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with both current and new clients. We pitched on and won clients in the beverage and alcohol industries. I left this role to move with my wife and children to Canada.

I started at Vizeum as a Media Planner and worked my way up to Business Unit Director. During that time I had the privilege of working on incredible brands in various categories, spanning finance, QSR, alcohol, insurance, ISP's, and asset management. Some of the brands I worked with are: Sanlam, The Spur Group, Pernod Ricard, Santam, Spree, MWEB and Coronation. I worked with a team of planners and buyers, as well as with partner agencies, to facilitate TTL strategies for clients, with measurable results.

My first position working specifically in media planning within advertising. This was a great opportunity to build experience and obtain a foundation on how media is planned and booked. I was responsible for planning and implementing the campaign strategy; for getting client approval, booking and then reporting on campaigns.
