I joined Hannover Re upon completion of the Journey Re global innovation competition. My role had significant scope including. • Senior manager on the Gene Re internal start-up. A critical illness product designed to use a policy holder’s genetic information to achieve a better diagnosis and reimburse the policyholders for the cost of precision medication. • Delivering a final workable P&C portfolio diversification swap product based on the work done during the Journey Re program. • Managing collaborative innovation projects with enterprise level partners. • Assessing insuretech opportunities for investment or strategic partnership. • Running innovation workshops with staff across the group. The Gene project was an internal start-up sponsored by two executive board members and extensively capitalised for the purpose of launching Genetics Linked Insurance Products (GLIPs) My key responsibilities on the Gene Re project. • Regulation and compliance. Assessing global genetics related legislation and regulatory guidelines. This research examined insurance specific areas and a wider analysis of the legal, regulatory, and ethical frameworks surrounding the use of genetic data. • Financial projections and planning. I built the financial models used internally to drive pricing decisions. Based on those models we built our projections and milestones. • Pitch design. We traveled widely to meet geneticists, medical professionals, medical research organisations, regulators, think tanks, and insurance companies. I was responsible for simplifying the complexity of insurance and genetics tailored towards the appropriate audience.

Journey Re is a start up acceleration program backed by a multi-national insurance company. We are currently designing new products in the InsureTech market in preparation to pitch to the parent company at the end of 2016 to win long term investment. My three person team is currently looking at how we can leverage IoT, Blockchain and Big Data into insurance products designed for Millennials, developing markets or new risks. We are part of a network of 8 teams working in a competitive - collaborative environment across 4 different nations attempting to disrupt the insurance industry.

As an Audit Associate I balance a challenging and varied work life with continuous education and exams as a trainee Chartered Accountant. I assist the Audit teams in the finance departments of many large firms across a range of industries. Clients I have worked on in 2015 include one of the largest multinational tech companies in Ireland, one of the largest global pharmaceutical companies in Ireland and one of Ireland's fastest growing Airlines. Through my role as an auditor I gain insight on how companies work on operational level and give advice on where greater efficiency may be achieved. I have to manage my time and work within the schedule of the team as timing is often restricted. As auditors the prime service we sell is assurance. I approach the job in a thorough manner and insure meticulous attention to detail in everything I do. I apply professional skepticism in order to ensure a balance between the relationship with our client and the crucial role I provide.

Was part of a three person team that launched an innovative tour operation in Dublin in January 2014. Spire Walking tours aimed to develop on the traditional walking tour model by exploring the city in greater detail and with greater professionalism than our competition in Ireland. We initially developed 3 primary products to deliver the Dublin market. Two of those products were completely new concepts in Dublin. We worked with a variety of hospitality partners to provider a second to none service to their guests. These relationships allowed us to win market share and grow the business. At the time of writing Spire Walking tours is the fourth highest ranked attraction or tour in Dublin city on TripAdvisor.com. A team of 8 people currently run the business and it continues to offer tours to thousands of visitors per year.
