I learned early on that every financial statement entry matters; then, that history can inform you vividly to future outcomes, but most recently I have come to understand the two most valuable entries (yes, they are double-sided) to any business:1) debit to cash, CREDIT TO SALES2) credit to inventory, debit to cost of goods sold (COGS)The ratio of the sales credit to the latter debit of COGS is daily determined by meticulous management of the internal business model.The former is dictated by everything else a business spends money on (yep, every other dime spent).
