Department manager for the Networks, Integration & Automation (NIA) department within the Transmission & Distribution division at Burns & McDonnell. In this role, I lead a department of 100+ engineers, drafters, designers, specialists, and field employees. I am responsible for department strategy, recruitment, training, retention, performance reviews, career development, and quality.

Assistant Department Manager for the Networks, Integration & Automation (NIA) department at Burns & McDonnell, I manage 35 engineers who are building out private communications infrastructure for electric utilities. In this role I am responsible for the recruitment, hiring, retention, training, as well as the personal and professional development of the engineers I manage.

Electrical Engineer in the Telecommunications & Network Engineering group of the Transmission & Distribution division. Past project work includes Transmission Fiber Infrastructure Project for Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G).

- Designed and simulated various types of microstrip RF filters using Microwave Office.- Researched the application of fractal iterations on Defected Ground Structures in order to obtain enhanced second order harmonic suppression, as well as a reduced filter size.

- Collaborated with four interns throughout the course of the summer to present a billion-dollar investment proposal to the CEO and various other leaders at Black & Veatch.- Completed over 50 hours of leadership training including Presenting with Confidence, Effective Meetings, Financial Acumen and Understanding Various Personality Types.- Created client deliverables such as cable schedules, conduit routing, arc flash testing, one-line diagrams, and duct bank schedules.

- Supervisor of a section consisting of 10 junior sailors.  The section was responsible for the corrective and preventative maintenance of all 6 satellite communications systems onboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69).- Responsible for the section’s equipment maintenance schedules, quality assurance, performance reviews, training, mentoring, status briefings and purchasing equipment and repair parts.- Was ranked as the #1 sailor in the department for 2005 (#1 of 23) and 2006 (#1 of 32) during performance evaluations. - Selected as 1 of approximately 30 sailors, out of the ship's crew of around 3,000 to be meritoriously advanced to the next rank by the ship's Commanding Officer as part of the Command Advancement Program.- Deployed and engaged in both Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) from October 2006 - May 2007.- Created a training curriculum and troubleshooting manual for each of the ship's satellite communications systems, to facilitate cross-training within the section and department.- Managed the department's budget for purchasing communications equipment, and ensured the departments sections had adequate supplies as the departments Repair Parts Petty Officer.
