Over the years, my duties have included writing, editing, Front & Back end web development, sales and marketing, and public relations.Snackbar Games - Founded in 2002, we specialize in high quality reviews and compelling features.The Cover Project - The premiere site online for high resolution, print quality video game cover art. Our artists are meticulous about the quality of the content that goes on our site. Today we host more than 13,000 covers for over 8,000 different games.

I handled software development and operations for the eReserve ticketing platform.

Working with Ian Blackie, the founder and owner, I am the Lead Architect and Developer of our flagship product, eReserve. eReserve is a full service online and box office ticketing solution for theaters, schools, and other organizations with a need to sell event tickets.My responsibilities include:- Establish and manage the product roadmap- Serve as the primary developer for the eReserve platform- Provide production support for the eReserve application- Build and maintain 3rd Party payment provider integrations

In this role I served as the Engineering Manager for Rackspace's DevOps Automation Service. Our team was focused on building a service based framework that would allow customers to rapidly make the shift into DevOps. The foundation of our work was using Chef to provide out of the box automation that could be combined or augmented by the customer's existing Chef recipes.Notable Accomplishments- Worked with our Business Manager to implement a Kanban board and daily stand-ups to improve team communication and accountability.- Bridged the gap between our Engineering and Support groups to ensure communication and collaboration were happening to drive towards a better customer experience.- Led an effort with HR to realign the DevOps pay grades to be in line with market rates and provide clear career path progressions for employees.

As a Technical Manager in Rackspace's Marquee group, I was responsible for working along side our Training & Development teams in HR to craft a training plan for more than 40 engineers/admins and 20 Acct Managers to ramp up on DevOps and the associated tools and technologies.The other half of my role was as the technical manager for a customer support team with customers consuming both Dedicated and Cloud infrastructure.

Tasked with shaping Developer Support for our US customers, I built and led a team that provided support to developers looking to leverage Rackspace's officially supported SDKs and APIs. In addition to helping customers that engaged us for help, our team was active in many online communities in an effort to bring the Fanatical Support that Rackspace is known for to developers that may have been considering Rackspace for their applications. Our team of skilled developers were also active in contributing to many open source projects including iPython, GitLab, and Bundler.We supported customers that were consuming Rackspace APIs using the following languages:Java.NETnode.jsPHPPythonRubyWe crafted a handful of internal tools to track social interactions in order to measure the impact of our efforts on customer signup and retention.

I led a small team responsible for managing a combination of SaaS and internally developed applications used across the enterprise.Using a team of interns, we upgraded and redeployed a set of Rails and Sinatra based Ruby applications using a custom Bootstrap based CSS framework to create a uniform look and feel. I led a team of engineers responsible for the customer facing and internal monitoring infrastructure. In this role, I served as the primary engineer for a large installation of HP Openview/Operations Manager. Openview served as the primary and secondary aggregation layer for our Enterprise customer monitoring alerts.Major accomplishments include:- Improved system stability by over 50% resulting in a reduction of delays processing critical customer alerts- Streamlined routine maintenance through scripts saving 5-10 hours per week

My role was to assist customers in developing an proactive plan for the IT infrastructure needs that met their long term business needs. I was also available to resolve reactive technology issues related to servers, desktops, or any other technology devices the customer may have depended on.

In this role, I developed in house applications to streamline business processes. I also assisted our Executive team in identifying problem areas of our workflow and help to determine an adequate solution for the problem area.Major accomplishments include:- Built a custom job tracking and management tool called "Job Tracker". This tool allowed our sales and project management teams to consolidate data about all of our current jobs in one place, eliminating paper reports and preventing costly mistakes related to job deadlines.- Built a small asset tracking tool for our Technical Services Team to track vendor RMAs and equipment that was on loan to customers during the RMA process.

Front line support for Intensive level customers. Working with customers in a purely technical way to help resolve any and all issues the customer might have with their configuration.

I was responsible for ensuring the companies' desktop, server, and network infrastructure was online at all times. This included multiple Windows based servers and roughly 40 workstations at our HQ in San Antonio and the branch offices in Austin, Dallas, and Houston.
