Manage through all construction process cycles, including ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Simultaneously manage multiple projects with owned buildings and their maintenance. • Process Improvement: Streamlined operations, transitioning company from paper to automated processes. Moved paper construction drawings into CAD drawings using Chief Architect software, switched financials into spreadsheets, and converted old paper leases into searchable PDF documents. • Manage P&L and operational/project budgets in the millions of dollars. Design and development included circuit card assemblies, cable harnesses and wiring, packaging and hardware, environmental testing, final production testing, and quality inspections. • Collaborated and interfaced across the business, including Application Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI) Teams, Quality, Test, Purchasing, Material Planning, Field Service Engineering, Drafting, PC Design, Operators, Process Engineers, Material Review Board (MRB), and Suppliers. • Provided design engineering support for commercial and government flight control product: flight control panels, interface displays, flight control surface servo motors, power supplies, and e* Supported design and manufacturing of new Pro Line Fusion Avionics Suite, with multiple displays and flight control modules. As sole Mechanical Engineer, worked with multiple groups on design and development of pioneering, cost-effective, robust electromechanical packaging for on-board locomotive and track-side signal electronics, and rail communication devices, including enclosures, mechanical structures, cable harnesses, and circuit card layout. Created new designs, led design reviews, worked with vendors (parts creation) and manufacturing (assembly, troubleshooting), and documented designs using 2D and 3D CAD programs, creating BOMs in PLM software. Served internal and external customers. • Developed electronic modules for installation on new or old GE locomotives and new/old locomotives from competitors, including Locotrol to cut brake/rail wear-related replacements; Locomotive retrofit system (Remote Controlled Locomotive – RCL) significantly reducing rail companies’ costs; and wayside (track-side) products, i.e., remote control track switching machines, solar panels, train yard track switching controls, track signals, etc. • Fixed legacy product line (Hydraswitch) to move from high-cost to lower-cost suppliers. Completed a year’s worth of documentation in 4 months. Created metric version to be marketed and sold on foreign markets. Product was sourced at other suppliers, slashing costs by 30%. • Led Design Reviews, Root Cause Analysis Reviews, Engineering Change Order (ECO) Reviews, and other internal presentations. Presented designs to external customers, including Statewide and Foreign Rail companies. ► Earned Finland customer business ($20M initial order and repetitive business) with Mechanical Design for RCL product.
