I work as a science teacher and acting provision lead in a specialist unit for children who are unable to access mainstream education, due to exclusion and other reasons.We use psychologically-informed, trauma-recovery approaches to help vulnerable young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties access education more effectively.I'm a teacher of GCSE Science and also an A Level Physics examiner. I have experience in both the state-maintained and independent sectors, as well as across a range of schools (primary/secondary) and inspection frameworks.I am also a chartered mechanical engineer with experience in the nuclear industry and the commercial buildings sector. My expertise is in the design of specialist engineering and ventilation systems for nuclear and high-hazard installations; as well as large-scale heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems using conventional and renewable technologies. I have a varied career portfolio having designed building services and public health systems across a range of industries, working within leading consultancies.
