Remote development and automation work for an Insurance data analytics client around deploying a service platform on AWS. The platform utilizes Kubernetes (EKS), RDS, and Windows compute clusters.• Wrote Terraform modules and root deployment configurations to provision EKS, RDS, Windows instances, along with the necessary load balancers, Route 53 records, Consul entries, and so on.• Designed and built CI/CD pipeline for a Java monorepo to build and properly version 48 Java projects, containerize over a dozen microservices, and deploy to Kubernetes with Helm.• Automate the installation and configuration of Microsoft HPC Pack 2016 on Windows EC2 instances with Packer, Terraform, Ansible, and Powershell. Expended automation to support highly-available HPC clusters with multiple head nodes behind a load balancer.

Remote development and automation work for a Health Insurance provider.• Designed a tiered Prometheus monitoring architecture for monitoring DC/OS clusters and the applications running within the clusters. • Wrote a Python tool to build Marathon app configurations by coalescing configuration fields set by infrastructure teams and development teams, allowing the developers to specify only a subset of options.• Provided systems support for client's DC/OS clusters.

Remote development and automation work at Fortune 50 industrial software company in California. Architected and built a CI/CD pipeline to orchestrate numerous automation steps to manage deployments of an industrial data platform to AWS. The orchestration pipeline involved Terraform to create infrastructure, populating newly created Chef supermarkets with cookbooks, and Chef Provisioning to create ec2 instances and join them to the Chef infrastructure.During this contract I contributed to a large Terraform code base, wrote extensive tests and automated testing of the Terraform codebase with kitchen-terraform, wrote and contributed to Chef cookbooks, and used Rake and Jenkins scripted Groovy pipelines to tie it all together.

TFS Capital was a boutique asset management firm providing portfolio management to alternative mutual funds utilizing proprietary quantitative investment strategies.-Automate and improve the continuous build and deployment pipelines for proprietary software applications using Jenkins and Chef. Codebase spans dozens of repositories and includes Java, Perl, Python, and MATLAB and is used to trade equities and other asset classes using proprietary quantitative models.-Lead the development team, prioritize projects, and take on development tasks to maintain a thorough understanding of all proprietary software systems.-Design, improve, and maintain the virtualized server, network, and storage infrastructure. In addition to critical production trading, this infrastructure supports quantitative model research and software development.-Design, implement, and test robust disaster recovery solutions to support business operations during various disaster scenarios. -Manage database and file servers and the underlying storage hardware to warehouse large data sets for analysis.-Work closely with the trading desk, analysts, and other business units to implement new ideas and align the IT and development team with business goals.
