Eastern Ukraine (Base In Zaporizhzia)

Set up this charity (www.hopefull.org.uk) with David Fox-Pitt 10 days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in March 2022, bringing food & joy to displaced Ukrainians who had been forced to move to Western Ukraine. Since that time have moved the charity further eastward and now operate out of a base in Zaporizhzia, serving the population from Kharkiv in North to Odesa in South. Set up feeding stations each day with 4-5 trucks in local schools, community centres and town halls that have been impacted by the war. Serve up to 2,000 individuals & families each day and distributed > 2.5 million free meals since beginning of war - having raised >£2m in that time to sustain the operation.

As Chair of the Friends, led a fundraising campaign to attract > £130k of voluntary funding to build a new ‘All Ability’ play area within the Park. Involved with schools, youth groups and other local bodies (Crieff Community Trust, SSPCA and Crieff at Christmas) to raise funds and to embellish Crieff’s ‘Go To’ status for visitors from within Scotland and across the Globe.

Involved culture changes and introducing new disciplines - based upon the ITIL ‘Best Practices’. • Responsible for establishing and managing a new Configuration Management function - as part of the Investment Bank’s objective to introduce an ITIL based service management methodology. • Driven by the Business requirement, identified and established internal and external Service Level Agreements (against which service delivery parameters could be optimized). Evolved KPIs and reporting matrices - to measure the performance of internal teams and external vendors.• Introduced a new set of reporting metrics to identify the size and configuration of the Bank’s server and workstation environments - to assist in understanding current capacity trends and to improve the overall usage of existing equipment.

• As the Moves, Additions and Changes Manager, evolved the process for controlling and administering Moves and Changes, 3rd party support suppliers, and the management of the software library. • As the Bank’s Federation against Software Theft (FAST) representative, developed a set of procedures to ensure software compliance (adopted as a template for other corporate members).• Established a Y2K software base-line and controlled the process for exceptions management, to minimize Millennium problems (chaired the Y2K weekly meeting).• Introduced a document control procedure – to ensure that all documentary components within the IT Infrastructure domain were consistent in form and were issued and maintained with the appropriate control.
