While playing four seasons and earning the second star for my hometown professional soccer club, I became a key player in the Louisville City organization’s rise to the most prestigious soccer club in the league, including a world-class training center and marquee stadium. Goalkeeping is a position of inherent leadership in the midst of high pressure, unpredictable situations because it demands instant, clear and concise communication to implement our tactical plan of action. My role demanded a persistent work ethic and any lack of personal accountability was detrimental to both mine and my team’s success. Throughout the past year, I’ve felt a call to action to utilize the skills and abilities I’ve become equipped with throughout my academic and professional career to tackle climate change. One of my favorite quotes is from Frank Herbert’s novel "Dune," which states: "A system maintains a certain fluid stability that can be destroyed by a misstep in just one niche. A system has order, a flowing from point to point. If something damns that flow, order collapses. The untrained might miss that collapse until its too late."We, as a species on this planet, have damned flows all throughout this system, but we see what must be done. I feel intensely that it is my calling in life to help our world’s system flow once more. I have a combined 9 years in collegiate and professional athletics. I am an SASB FSA Level II Candidate.Additionally, I have a Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst certification from the Certified Financial Institute.
