Chris Rive graduated with honours in 2009 and after working in the UK and the Americas over a three year period, sought a broader world perspective in China. There he worked as a lecturer and English course coordinator in various areas around China totalling 7 years. He now returns to his passion for engineering with a better understanding of its economic, social, sustainable and environmental values. Chris’ career will be exemplified by his regard for the big picture and fastidious attention to detail. He is regarded by his colleagues as a task-focused team player. His current and previous employers appreciate Chris’ alignment with their business objectives and attention to clients' needs. His drive to present new ideas and complete successful projects has resulted in improvements and profitable wins in their business outcomes. In his previous position, this included gaining a further year residency for the company in it's prime retail commercial location, process studies allowing a more effective transitional pricing scheme, various infrastructure projects including road and telecommunication projects, setup and roll out of the company's ISO 9001 standard for its production facility and update of the company's ISO 14001 to meet the new standard. Chris now works with the Government of Jersey's Development Control and regulation division in the planning department serving, guiding and helping customers with their planning applications.
