As a kid I loved taking apart and fixing VCR's on the kitchen table with my dad. Mag-lev trains for science fairs, chess tournaments, and music lessons as well as radio controlled anything -- cars, boats, planes, blimps and trains -- all had me dreaming of robots and automation early on. I wrote my first C++ "program" (temperature converter) and was building+publishing websites on angelfire with just notepad + mspaint for my punk rock band before getting to high school. At art school I ended up being way more interested in building a few robots and studying philosophy than animation. By the second year my roommate and I started our first company in web development -- WebButter, LLC. We produced and managed a few sites, but the college (MICA) was top-tier as an analog art school... but not a good fit for a digital kid.. so I left with tons of debt.I moved to Colorado because University of Colorado had a pre-engineering program but before even starting school I found a job at what was then ActiveWebsite, and then rebranded into Booj and then was acquired by RE/MAX -- it is an opportunity I'm glad to have found. For 14 years now I've been doing a ton of diverse things... I've worked my way up from a Jr. Front End Developer at a startup, through an acquisition, and to the position of Director of Cybersecurity at a publicly traded global franchiser. Been a great adventure so far!
