Did Long-Term Substitute Teaching for the Central Middle School in an 8th Grade English Langauge Arts position, and Special Education

• Developed multiple interdisciplinary Social Studies units for a wide range of student abilities, including special needs, low-achieving, as well as gifted students.• Planned and implemented daily U.S. History, Global Studies and Citizenship, and Genocide lessons using inquiry-based, interactive and collaborative approaches.• Created multiple, creative, and engaging assignments and assessments for the students which increased classroom participation, learning, and engagement throughout the course.• Used both formative and summative assessments to evaluate student work and to improve and enhance lessons based on student work and feedback.

I gathered product knowledge, helped out customers in our "sister" isle, Kitchens and Bath, and ensured I could help customers in multiple departments. I'm a "one-stop-shop" employee. I can help you find what you're looking for, be it in Paint, Appliances, Millwork, Flooring, and Kitchens and Bath, tell you the differences between the products, cash out your purchases, and then load your vehicle with your heavy objects as well!

♣ Presented and started 11th and 12th grade students on the development of their History Day projects, based on the theme of “Exploration, Encounter, and Exchange” in History. ♣ Provided resources to teachers during the school and contest projects, such as physical and internet resources for their students, along with reviewing projects for historical accuracy and content requirements.♣ Worked with 8th grade students to aid their History Day projects, resulting in multiple groups winning the regional contest and going to the State Contest.♣ Planned, hosted, and oversaw the regional Connecticut History Day contest at Manchester High School in February 2016.

Clinic Practicum, Grade 11 Psychology and Sociology January 2014-May 2014• Observed general psychology and sociology classes and taught one lesson in sociology on Perception.Provided extra support for students in psychology on an individual basis.

Clinic Practicum, Grade 8 Science August 2013-December 2013• Observed multiple science classes and recorded notes for later review• Aided with class set up, science experiments, and aided students with science questions on assignments.

I was a Combat Medic with the Marine Corps Infantry In Camp Lejeune, NC for 3 years. I had two combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and provided first aid to over 60 Local Nationals, as well as life-saving aid to three Marines after an Improvised Explosive Device was triggered. I was in charge of the health and well being of 75 Marines, as well making sure all their shots and health exams were up to date, and if not, placing over 1,000 shots and 300 health exams.I then transferred to Naval Branch Health Clinic Groton, Submarine Base New London for two years where I was supervisor of the Undersea Medicine Physical Exams, ensuring the Medical Officer had all required labs, tests, and paperwork required for each patient. Additionally, I was the Supervisor of Waivers and Disqualifications, sending Waiver and Disqualification packages to Washington D.C. for final review and approval in regards to Submarine duty eligibility. Under my supervision, 6 Junior Corpsmen were well trained and ran our section efficiently, performing over 1000 Physicals each year.

Was charged with production of pizza and other baked goods, sauce and dough making, stock rotation, cash register duty, making orders, and general cleaning. Was given increased responsibilities, and entrusted with cash counting and other manager duties such as helping to open and close as needed.
