About Chris Rushton
Having played, volunteered and now amassing close to 10 years’ experience in working and transforming sporting organisations, to me there is nothing better than being a part of a team who brings people together to create new and better opportunities for Australians to realise the benefits that only sport can bring. Since four years of age I have tried my hand at a number sports and have loved every minute of it (much to the detest of my parents who had to drive me everywhere every weekend!). After coming to the realisation that I wouldn't become Australia's next sporting superstar, I tried my hand at volunteering in community sport and studying sport and business at University. From leading the creation of a new community sports club in London (we even played the first ever game of Rugby League in Belgium!) which entered its 11th season this year, and returning to Australia to work for the National Rugby League, Queensland Rugby League and now Tenpin Bowling Australia, I have had many great experiences leading and being a part of teams in two vastly different sports where we have made a difference to people's lives by created new and better opportunities in sport from grassroots right through to high performance. As a father of two daughters (who think I go bowling all day every day…), who lives in Bris Vegas, loves a bit of travel, and who reads, talks, watches and listens to everything to do with sport and business, I’m always interested in connecting with successful organisations and individuals who are achieving great outcomes, driving change and creating a positive difference for all Australians through sport.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Management, Leadership, Event Planning, and 10 others.
