My name is Chris Ryu and 'honest.' is my brain child. I've been programming for 16 years, 8 of those full-time - I love using technology to solve problems. My career has seen me spend time on both sides of the client-agency fence; as a Group Marketing Manager for well respected group of Audi Centres then as the Technical Director at a long established digital agency.I then founded and ran an award winning social enterprise - The Honest Agency. It was one of the (in fact we believe the only) social enterprise digital agencies in the UK, re-investing our profits back into the community. From children's programming classes to free websites for charities. We also turned a derelict warehouse into a dedicated STEM education centre complete with planetarium!My experience with web/digital/marketing agencies has been mixed, but one thing that's consistent is how 'fluffy', or 'economic with the truth' they can be to the clients that pay their wages. Whether that's to avoid embarrassment, or for personal gain varies too, but it's the customer who suffers and is left feeling less than satisfied. We take a different approach and actively try to come up with more innovative ways to make the agency more transparent, including random screenshots automatically taken of us doing the work.Using what I learned with Honest, we've now founded Honest Tech Group, a small group of agencies with the same ethos. We're still the a social enterprise, but new and improved!While we specialise in building solutions for the Automotive Industry (sticking to what we know best), we have a lot of experience in other industries too - especially when it comes to building integrated systems.
