This included projects such as:The assessment of the extant engineering capability, developing Management Information and reporting structures, establishing common taxonomies for disciplines and nuclear sector specialisations, and maturation of existing datasets and frameworks to establish a key baseline and a common view of the existing capability.Oversight of the maturity assessment of the business's Engineering capability in both qualitative and quantitative terms, aligned to the Defence Lines of Development, engaging sector engineering leadership across the three key sites.Change management for demand planning (resource and capability forecasting), establishing a consistent and coherent approach across multiple contracts, sites and disciplines.University Strategy setting for the sector, establishing two key areas of focus - People, looking at the future Babcock workforce, and Technology, aligning the future needs of the sector with its R&D portfolio, maximising the financial and engineering expertise invested across the two.

Section leader - Leading 2 teams of technicians and engineers to complete two key projects (double Motor Generator Set Rotor Change, and Secondary Propulsion Motor change in the Shiplift, both delivering successfully within operationally imperative timescales. This included management of all conventional Health and Safety aspects, minors, contractors, extended shift patterns and implementation of Safe Systems of Work.

Shutdown Supervisor - Responsible for the safe state of the nuclear reactor when alongside, including control of primary and secondary system works by both uniformed and civilian workforces, monitoring and control of the reactor plant and associated systems, out of hours emergency response.Secondary Control Panel Operator (Watchkeeping) - Accountable for the Electrical Power & Generation system's operation in relation to the reactor, submarine's propulsion systems and non-essential supplies.Head of Power & Generation - Accountable for the materiel state of these systems, including: Motor generators, Turbo generators, Diesel generators, Various AC/DC electrical distribution components, and Main and Low Power battery systems. Managed the maintenance and upkeep of these systems including contractor liaison, management of safe systems of work (including confined spaces, reactor compartment entry, hot work, radiation hazards and working at height), stores management for both consumable and permanent assets, defect rectification and maintenance system administration. Led a team of 5 technicians including technical coaching and mentoring and pastoral care.Head of Secondary Systems - Accountable for the materiel state of these systems, including; Control and indication of reactor secondary systems, domestic systems and propulsion machinery. Managed the maintenance and upkeep of these systems including contractor liaison, management of safe systems of work (including confined spaces, reactor compartment entry, hot work, radiation hazards and working at height), stores management for both consumable and permanent assets, defect rectification and maintenance system administration. Led a team of 4 technicians including technical coaching and mentoring and pastoral care.
