The Office of Corporate & Foundation Relations (CFR) works internally with directors of development, administrators, faculty, and staff and externally with corporate and foundation representatives to support the University of South Carolina's academic, institutional, and research initiatives, priorities, and programs.

As of October 2019, I helped secure more than $31.7 million for the City of Columbia in federal, state, and private grants. I handled all aspects of the grant-writing process from research and grant identification to application submission to post-award management. I taught the following courses: Business Grammar, Business Letter Writing, Technical Writing, Written Communication Skills, Minutes & Meetings, Email Essentials, Proofreading & Editing, and Writing Grants That Win. I developed all of these courses but Business Grammar. As a contract instructional designer, I worked on various e-learning projects, often simultaneously. I participated in all aspects of the projects--from analysis to design and development to implementation. However, my primary focus was the writing and instructional design aspects (e.g., lesson analysis, detailed content outline, storyboards, narration, etc.).

My responsibilities focused on analyzing, creating, and implementing information for SC Business One Stop (SCBOS), which is a department in the SC Dept.of Revenue. My job duties included techincal writing, creating video/flash-based tutorials, analyzing training needs/requirements, identifying deliverables, creating and maintaining training manuals, and defining and editing website content. My aim was to provide consistency and cohesiveness to the digital information.
