Software engineering is at the root of all I do, but having a product and people focused mind is what drives me. After almost two decades of being in this field, running the gamut of small startups to larger teams, I never shy away from a challenge as I dive in with fellow engineers and coworkers to solve. Extremely collaborative minded and driven to do what’s right, not only from a code perspective, but also from what a customer expects, I love to produce projects that drive a company forward. My skillsets range from technical leadership, to managing and growing other engineers, to being in the trenches and building quality software projects. Attention to UX is also a key driver as I love to work directly with product managers and designers for the best outcome. Developer experience is also a huge focus to make sure that not only I, but fellow engineers are as productive as we can be through best practices such as quality code, performant outcomes, and of course testing the code we write.I’ve helped grow not only fellow engineers through being their mentor or manager, but also jumping on a call with them to work through difficult problems they may be facing. I’ve also helped grow engineering teams from a small force to large bodies through shaping hiring and interview process for the engineering department.My experience of being a full-stack engineer allows for me to be very versatile for any team that is looking for someone with my skillset to push things forward. Having experience with different front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or even Backbone.js (a long, long time ago) and blending it with backend technologies such as Ruby/Ruby on Rails has allowed me to contribute very technically to the architecture of any given project.
