Throughout the course of the time I spent in the classroom with Catawba County Schools, I taught kindergarten, fifth grade, sixth grade, k-5 computers, and middle school exceptional children in all major subject areas. I started by designing my own personal classroom webpage using Microsoft Frontpage at the time, before going on to serve as the web master for Sherrils Ford Elementary School. I developed global learning opportunities, one of which connected 5th grade students in Sherrills Ford, NC, Osh Kosh, WI, and Tokyo, Japan together through email and a web-based database solution to study weather patterns over time and better understand the meaning of climate. I oversaw the training and management process for utilizing school supported email with students in grades 3-6.
