Joined Cumberland Group to serve as principal lead for a cloud transformation project for one of their Atlanta based clients to migrate legacy data center infrastructure from on-premise data centers to public cloud (AWS & GCP) platforms. Included responsibility for the application inventory/realignment and migration to public cloud. Areas of specific focus included compute, storage, security and networking for IaaS, PaaS & SaaS solutions. Service providers such as Amazon, Google Cloud Platform, and a variety of SaaS providers were engaged in support of the migration effort. During remaining tenure, served as project leads on a variety of Data Center Transformation initiatives. Responsibilities included daily and weekly interaction with IT leadership and IT business owners. This is accomplished utilizing a combination of SaaS/PaaS/IaaS service models built upon Public, Private and Hybrid cloud delivery models. The Enterprise Architect role is responsible for providing leadership direction for strategic infrastructure and application architecture plans, standards, system design, and implementation with a focus on mapping Halyard's IT capabilities to the company's business needs. Provided program management, architecture & data network design and infrastructure support for the Election Analysis System (EAS). The EAS is a suite of fully redundant distributed applications that perform real-time statistical analysis of election day results. It then provides live feeds of these results to the the National Election Pool (NEP) which is comprised of the six major U.S. broadcast media networks and their political analysts. Results are also available to over 200 news organizations around the world. Data is collected from over 140,000 exit poll interviews and generates over 500,000 computations in real time. Due to the wide visibility and sensitive nature of this data, the technology architecture has demanding security and high availability requirements requiring multiple hardware infrastructures in disparate geographical locations.The EAS initially provided projections to the NEP for the 2004 U.S. General Elections. It has been used in every national election (mid term and presidential) since that time with the most recent being in 2012.

Provided project management services for two large customer installations in Atlanta, Ga. of Allure's technology platform.

Hired into a newly formed group within Turner Broadcasting that was focused on the development of new technologies that centered on the acquisition and/or distribution of TBS network content. This roll served as the focal point within Platform Research and Development (PR&D) for all new projects coming into PR&D from business units. Also responsible for working with vendors and university institutions who are working on new and/or existing technologies to support the current project portfolio or to begin new research projects. Provided monetary grants to nine universities around the world who were working on these future technologies that may have application within a TBS business unit.

Returned to the Turner property of Time Warner to oversee the deployment of new Microsoft Exchange mail system corporate wide. Also had responsibility for the Windows Server infrastructure as well as a project to migrate 300+ Novell servers to Microsoft NT. Led a team of 12 professionals for 3 years in this roll. In 2001 roll expanded to include responsibility for all servers, across a range of operating systems, as well as the data center operations for two data centers. Management responsibility grew to 5 manager direct reports and 41 total employees and a budget of $3.1 million. In 2004 entire IT department was reorganized. Was offered the opportunity to fill a newly formed roll to head up IT Architecture and Strategy for Turner Broadcasting. This roll had responsibility for setting long-term compute, storage, operating system, application and IT security strategies.

Primary responsibility was to lead and direct a cross divisional technology governance committee, Time Warner Electronic Messaging Governance Group (EMGG). The primary role of the EMGG was to set messaging strategies and directions for all of Time Warner including its subsidiary companies. Other projects included file/application sever and data center strategies and direction. Additional duties included documentation and presentation material as well as to present to the Time Warner IT Leadership group, CIO Council. This position was strategic in nature reported to VP of technology.

Initially hired as a contractor to assist in the complete replacement/implementation of corporate wide e-mail system. After three months was brought on as a full-time employee and given responsibility for the corporate e-mail (Lotus cc:Mail) and Meeting Maker calendar applications as well as the hardware infrastructure required to support the applications. In 1995 became the manager of the group and its five FTE’s. Responsibilities included all server/network configurations, application installation and the support & evaluation of new products and system enhancements as required.

Provided technical support for growing multi-vendor computer community. Includes hardware, software, and networking requirements. In 1992 was promoted to the position of project manager responsible for the design of the 1996 Olympic Data Network. Responsibilities included all LAN/WAN design requirements and specifications, software distribution system, electronic mail, as well as network monitoring and security. Also responsible for the build out and management of an integration and proto-typing lab where many of the hardware and software products used during the 1996 Olympic Games were tested prior to implementation.Although I departed ACOG in July of 1994, I remained close to the project and organization. I returned for three weeks in the summer of 1996 to work for ACOG during the Olympics. I served in the role of communications specialist in the VCC (venue communications center) at the Olympic Stadium.

Provided network and application engineering support for the Systems Engineering Department; a part of a BCSS support contract to NASA. Primarily responsibility was supporting the growing Macintosh population at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. Provided support as network protocol manager for DECNet and AppleTalk on NASA’s nationwide private data network. Also worked as team lead of a group who developed an EIS application in support of the NASA Shuttle Program SME (shuttle main engine) and SRB (solid rocket booster) engineering teams.

Pre-Sales support for outside sales team. Provided customer presentations and technology demonstrations for current Apple Computer product families. Largely centered around the brand new and very popular Macintosh personal computer.
