- In-house credit property, credit disability, credit life, debt cancellation claims. - Utilize policy provisions, reference materials and reasonable judgement to effectively analyze and evaluate complex claims to determine liability, exposure and risk while maintaining compliance with state regulations. - Manage assigned workflow queue and adjudicate claims within 3-5 business days of receipt.- Calculate reserves and issue payments to beneficiaries within authorized limits in accordance with policy provisions.- Conduct claim investigations for contestable claims. Responsible for ordering medical records, ensure cost containment of medical record fees in accordance with individual state HIPAA regulatory compliance. Review medical records to determine if material misrepresentations were made. - Evaluate claims from adjudication to close for fraudulent activity. Document and compile all factual evidence of fraudulent claims in preparation for review by the Special Investigations Unit. Assist Special Investigation Unit and attorneys with litigations by providing depositions.- Conduct interviews, maintain professional relationships and provide exceptional customer service with all clients, including but not limited to: insureds, local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, employers, physicians, agents, medical facilities, financial institutions, creditors, and worker’s compensation insurance carriers. - Maintain professional and courteous interpersonal relationships within the company. - Train new and existing employees on investigations, state regulations, fraud detection and claim analysis strategies.- Compose letters, annual review claim forms, functional capacity forms and questionnaires for the department templates.- Thoroughly document claim file with precise details of phone conversations and investigation interviews.- Workflow output of 200 -300 claims per month.
